I was introduced to disc golf in 2012 by my oldest brother, and it didn’t take more than the first solid tee shot to get me hooked. I played casually with friends for the next 3 years and fell so deeply in love with this great sport.
I started playing leagues and tournaments in 2015, and began slowly climbing the ranks as an amateur disc golfer. While I did get my first win in 2016 and my game was feeling good, I ended up taking almost the entire year of 2017 off when my wife and I had twins. It was during this off time that I realized just how much disc golf meant to me. it wasn’t just a game I got to go play with my friends, it was a part of who I was.
The 2017 off season was where things got serious, and also around when I started throwing MVP. I began seeing significant growth in my confidence on the course during the 2018 season, and decided I would take the plunge to play pro in 2019.
I spent most of my time 2019 learning (getting my butt kicked) from all of the great pros in my area, and even managed to sneak away with my first professional win. My 2020 season, despite being cut short by covid, was by far my most successful yet, with 2 MPO wins, multiple podium finishes, finishing 13th place at the Michigan Pro State Championships, and improving my rating by 35 pts, I’m so thrilled for my 2021 season and hope you will follow along as I learn and grow as a professional disc golfer.
