I was first introduced to throwing discs in the form of ultimate frisbee in middle school. Because of the limited interest in the ultimate community in my hometown of Napa, CA, my high school coach suggested trying out disc golf. After a few embarrassingly horrendous rounds, I was hooked! I was welcomed into the Napa Disc Golf Club with loving arms as they fostered a space to challenge me to be a better person, competitor, and disc golfer.
After playing in various local tournaments, I knew it was something I wanted to do long-term. I eventually went on to play in the 2017 AM Worlds, where I took down the World Title… in the Junior Long Drive Competition (but let’s not get lost in the details)!
I went on to attend Gonzaga University for a degree in Mechanical Engineering. There, I was met with the difficult choice of either devoting my efforts to the ultimate frisbee team or to disc golf, all while finding time to study. Eventually, I gravitated towards being involved with the team and I couldn’t be happier with the decision.
Now that I have graduated, I have found myself in the Twin Cities area for work and am ready to reignite the competitive drive for disc golf. The grind begins once more!
The team at MVP has facilitated this avenue for me to balance working a day job with dipping my toes in the tournament scene. I couldn’t be more honored and excited to take these first steps with such an awesome group of people believing in me!
