My first round of Disc Golf was in August 2016. A good friend had tried it once and insisted we play a round together, so we bought a few discs before heading to a local course. We had a blast and ended up tied, so we went to a playoff hole to decide the winner. This playoff was where I got my first birdie to win by one stroke. Well, I was hooked after that, both on disc golf, and making it competitive. I found out there were tournaments and started signing up for everything I could with my first one only a few weeks after my first round.
Naturally, I spent kind of a crazy amount of time practicing, but it has been worth it and Disc Golf has kind of taken over my life now. I still make bad throws, and the odd round that feels like nothing goes right, but I’ve also got some course records, and moments of glory. Those moments are what keep me coming back for more. Minimize the bad shots, and try to make the good ones better and better.
